The brand new Hyundai i20 is arriving this coming January
Korean car firm Hyundai have officially confirmed all of the brand new details on their new i20 model which is all set to be made available from showrooms this coming January with the order books open on this city car from right now. The i20 is one of the most well loved and recognised city cars in its division and it has proven to be a key contender over the years especially when it comes to taking the fight to dominant vehicles such as Fiesta from Ford. The full price list and specifications have been confirmed for the new model and we think that this could be one of the finest models that the mass manufacturer has ever produced. This will officially mark the second generation of the i20 to go on sale with the first model being made available on our roads since 2008. Now here we are six years later and the fun is about to be brought back to the city car division one more time.
The new specifications announced for the Hyundai i20
So what new features have been announced for the vehicle that could potentially make you a customer of Hyundai in the future?. Well firstly a 1.2 litre petrol engine has been confirmed for the entry level model which is known as the S. Both electric and tinted windows are confirmed for this entry level model as is USB connectivity. The S Air is another trim level offered with the vehicle and this also adds air conditioning into the mix. The mid range level makes its way to you in the form of the SE which is expected to be the popular choice for customers when it does go on sale. Both a 1.2 and 1.4 litre petrol range comes along with this trim level. Power ranges from 83 and 99bhp which could be ideal when it comes to contendership with models such as the Mito from Alfa Romeo. A 1.1 and 1.4 litre diesel set up will also be offered to you as the customer. 74 and 89 brake horse power is delivered from these units respectively. A set of 16 inch alloy wheels,a lane departure warning system and reversing sensors are just some of the highlights to come along with this trim level.
The range topping models however consist of both the Premium and Premium SE. All of the engine units from the previous trim levels will be offered with these trims. The main difference for these units though is that a lot more additional equipment is offered with these models. Items such as LED running lights, climate control and automatic headlights and wipers are offered with the Premium. Premium SE however also receives a panoramic sun roof, heated seating and front parking sensors also. So therefore if we take these features into consideration, we could see the the likes of the I3 from German brand BMW come into play as far as technology and gadgets are concerned.
How much does the new i20 range come out at?
The Korean company have officially confirmed that the entry level models in the range will begin from a price of £10,695. £12,715 is the beginning price for the mid level SE model. However if you want to go all the way and purchase the range toppers, you can expect to pay out £13,725 for the Premium and £14,725 for the Premium SE.
