Tuesday 18th November 2014 12:24:59

Iconic car brand Mini have put their latest in terms of top of the range Cooper models on sale. The firm have recently launched their brand new Cooper SD which is a diesel variant but how does it shape up compared to its rivals and other Cooper models to choose from?. Mini have always dedicated themselves to designing the ideal and perfect driving experience for their customers and this is an area that we certainly think the firm have excelled with in this brand new addition. This model is a three door variant with Fuel economy being vastly improved upon with this addition to the Cooper line up. Although its not quite the spec of the popular Cooper S, it still delivers on some great power and shares the similar features that we have come to know and love from the Mini brand.

Features and specs to be found on the new Cooper SD

The vehicle keeps that classic Mini look that we are accustomed to with Cooper Mini model. The chrome surrounded front grille makes a return to the line up as do the classic oval headlights. A twin exhaust system is also found at the rear end of the vehicle. Inside the car a multi functioning steering wheel can be found with the same Black interior as can be found in other Mini models. This vehicle has been launched in the form of a four seater. Inside the car is virtually identical to its predecessors. The steering wheel however is made from leather with red stitching also finding a place in the car.

So now if we take a look into the kind of power that you can expect to receive from this brand new addition to the Cooper line up, we see that the BMW owned brand have included the fitting of a two litre, turbo diesel unit. A six speed, automatic transmission system can also be found in the Cooper SD. Power deliverance has also been confirmed to come in at 168bhp. With that being said, an overall top speed limitation has been set for this diesel model which comes in at 140mph with the sprint from the 0 to 62 miles per hour zone being easily achieved in just 7.2 seconds. The Cooper has proven to be a key competitor on the market for many years now fending of competition from the likes of the Mercedes B Class and the Ford Fiesta. So does this new range topping model have the ability to keep with the these vehicles and maintain such a high standard of rivalry?.

The price range for the Mini Cooper SD officially begins at £21,070 and you may be happy to know that the purchase on one of these models can be made right now from your local Mini dealer.
